Nice afternoon, but where are the trout?

The river was in good shape in spite of the almost daily rain we've been experiencing. The trout were not very active though. I enjoyed a few splashy refusals on stimulators, but caught none. Isonychias have started. I counted a number of duns after 6:00, but the trout didn't seem to know about it yet.

Fortunately, the fishin is always good, even when the catchin is slow. Nice day out.

Hello Mister Anchovy! I when last monday to the river, the trout activity was zero... I thought that the reason was the cold water, 4º C, but my cousin thought it was the lunar phase. I really don´t know... The only thing I know it´s that we didn´t catch any fish.

Regards from the south of the world, where here is cold...

Well for once, I have no complaints. Went out last night after work and hit some great fishing. It was blazingly hot yesterday and while wading along the shore of an urban lake felt the water temperature cool around my legs. I'd found a spring. Casting into the cool water, I was connecting with trout. Along the edges, Smallmouth Bass. Toward dark, a hatch of small white moths, generically called Millers, came off. Easily matched and fished by slightly riffling the fly after letting it settle. No real big ones of either trout or bass but lots of fun.

Cheers,
Steve

I once caught a goldfish trying to escape my pond. Does that count?

We've just moved, and we're living in a sea of boxes. If I can make some progress, I hope to sneak out for an evening or two next week.
